A Phase 3 Multi-center Randomized Double-blinded Study of MK-7684 with Pembrolizumab as a Co-formulation (MK-7684A) Versus Pembrolizumab Monotherapy as a First Line Treatment for Participants with PD-L1 Positive (TPS>=1%) Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Brief description of study

The purpose of the study is to determine and compare MK-7684A to pembrolizumab alone for participants with PD-L1 Positive (TPS>=1%) Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. We want to know if MK-7684A is superior to pembrolizumab alone for overall survival. We also want to identify molecular biomarkers and understand the mechanism of action of MK-7684 and pembrolizumab. The study drugs MK-7684A and pembrolizumab are investigational, which means that it has not been approved by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the health authority that gives approval for new medicines to be prescribed in the United States, but the FDA has given its permission to test these agents in the current trial.
