Enhancing Clinical Outcomes in Patients with Nontuberculous Mycobacteria: A Longitudinal Study

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to observe what happens to patients with non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). NTM are bacteria that may cause infection in the lungs. Specifically, we would like to know what happens over time to patients’ symptoms, quality of life, breathing tests and CT-scan results (Computerized Tomography - picture of the lungs). We would like to see how treatment of this infection, including help with mucus clearance and antibiotics, if needed, influences these results. Routine care will be provided to you by your physician, and the information (data) will be collected for the research. You are being asked to participate in this study because you have been diagnosed with NTM based on a recent test done on your sample of mucus.
