Evaluation of the gut microbiome in response to treatment and clinical course of inflammatory bowel disease.
Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to understand how gut bacteria, the immune system, and genes differ in people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), specifically Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD). We will do this by collecting and storing information and samples (blood, stool, and tissue) for this study and future research. We will also compare the information we collect from people with IBD to information collected from non-IBD (control) subjects.
