COVID-19 AND LACTATING MOTHERS (CALM): AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY OF COVID-19 TRANSMISSION RISKS BETWEEN PARENT AND CHILD THROUGH HUMAN LACTATION
Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to determine if there may be virus causing COVID-19 in breast milk, skin swabs and blood samples we collect from you. Samples will be used to learn more about transmission risks between parent and child through human lactation. At this time the understanding of COVID-19 transmission risk via breast feeding is very limited and the optimal management of breast-feeding mothers is not known, resulting in conflicting recommendations and potentially unnecessary restrictions.
