BARCONA Trial: A Randomized Trial of Bardoxolone Methyl in Patients Infected with SARS-Corona Virus-2 (COVID-19)
Brief description of study
The purpose of this research study is to find out if bardoxolone methyl is safe to use for people with COVID-19 and if it will help increase the odds of recovery for people with COVID-19. Bardoxolone methyl is considered an investigational drug because it is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat COVID-19. This research study will compare bardoxolone methyl to a placebo. A placebo is used in research studies to compare the results and side effects of the drug being studied to the results and side effects of taking no medication.
