Effects of global brain health on sensorimotor recovery after stroke

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Stroke
  • Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 99 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Participants are 18 years old or older
    2. Those who had first-time, ischemic, unilateral stroke within the previous 3 weeks
    3. At least one major upper extremity muscle group with a manual muscle test score of less than 5/5
    4. Participants with written oral proficiency in English or Spanish
    5. Willingness to complete study procedures

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Those who had brainstem or cerebellar stroke
    2. Participants with hemorrhagic stroke
    3. Participants with Traumatic brain injury
    4. A major musculoskeletal or non-stroke neurological condition that interferes with the assessment of sensorimotor function
    5. A family or personal history of seizures or epilepsy
    6. Metal in the head (except in the mouth), implanted cranial or thoracic devices
    7. Claustrophobia
    8. Participants who cannot provide informed consent
