Assessment of glutamate neurotransmission brain bioenergetics and neuroinflammation in major depressive disorder using TSPO PET and MRI

Brief description of study

The overarching goal of this study is to develop PET/MR techniques for the diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Our central hypothesis is that abnormalities in glutamate neurotransmission and brain bioenergetics are closely related in MDD and that this is particularly relevant in forms of MDD associated with neuroinflammation.
