The Lived Experience of Perioperative and Ambulatory Registered Nurses Displaced to Acute Care Settings During the COVID-19 Pandemic at an Urban Specialty Hospital: A Phenomenological Study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Displacement To New Role During Covid-19 Pandemic.
  • Age: Between 18 - 99 Years
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Staff registered nurses who work primarily in ambulatory settings (e.g. Pre-Admission Testing, Outpatient Orthopedic Center) or perioperative settings (e.g. Operating Room, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
    2. Nurses displaced to an inpatient, acute care COVID-19 unit at the NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital during the months of March and April 20200
    3. Participants who provided direct patient care during the displacement
    4. Willing and able to provide consent

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Nursing leaders and Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIPs) displaced from perioperative and ambulatory settings to the acute care setting
