Optimization and evaluation of accelerated MRI for prostate imaging

Brief description of study

The objective of this study is to develop fast or accelerated Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) methods for prostate imaging. Current prostate imaging, which is performed on 1.5 Tesla -3Tesla (amount of magnetic field strength) scanners is costly and requires lengthy scanning time while a large amount of imaging data is collected. We hope to develop a method to accelerate MRI such that it requires less data, yet can still provide useful diagnostic information. Development of these methods will enable prostate MRI exams to be performed more rapidly in the future, hopefully increasing its accessibility and decreasing cost.
