A PROSPECTIVE SINGLE-SUBJECT SINGLE-BLINDED SINGLE-CENTER STUDY OF THE EFFECTS OF KELOID TREATMENT WITH LASER ASSISTED 5-FLUOROURACIL VERSUS LASER ASSISTED CORTICOSTEROID

Brief description of study

The purpose of this research study is to investigate how well treating keloids (raised scar) with laser and a medication called 5-fluouracil compares to treating keloids with laser and a corticosteroid. To do this, part of the keloid will receive laser and 5-fluouracil and another part of the keloid will receive laser and corticosteroid. Alternatively, if a participant has two similar sized keloids near each other, each keloid will receive one of the treatments described above. It will be determined randomly, by chance, like flipping a coin which part of the keloid (or which keloid) receives each drug in combination with laser treatment.
