Improving Medication Adherence with Telehealthcare Medication Therapy Management to Change Health Outcomes in Adolescents and Young Adults with Asthma (MATCH)

Brief description of study

The study will examine if adolescents and young adults with asthma will have improvements in taking their inhaled medications, as agreed upon between themselves and their doctor, and fewer symptoms by having regular appointments with a pharmacist using video calls on their smart phone or tablet. Participation involves being randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group of participants will have video calls with the pharmacist and use electronic sensors on their inhalers to help remind about taking medicines and to track use. There will be 8 video calls with the pharmacist. The other group will just use the electronic sensors for reminders and tracking. This study will take place completely virtually
