Gastrointestinal tract colonization and Staphylococcus aureus associated skin diseases
Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between skin diseases and a bacterial species called Staphylococcus aureus. This bacterial species is found on the skin and the presence of Staphylococcus aureus has been associated with worse outcomes of skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis and furunculosis. Little is known about whether presence of Staphylococcus aureus in the gut affects diseases on the skin. This study aims to understand whether Staphylococcus aureus in the gut affects skin disease.
