Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

• Conditions:
  Atherosclerosis
  Coronary Artery Disease, Stroke, Carotid Artery Disease, Heart Transplant, Heart Attack
• Age: Between 18 years - 95 years
• Gender: Male or Female

• Other Inclusion Criteria:
  

  1. Ability to understand and provide informed consent
  2. Participants undergoing carotid endarterectomy or stenting or diagnostic carotid angiogram for clinically stable and unstable carotid disease from Vascular Surgery and Neurosurgery at the NYU Langone Health and the Mount Sinai Health System
  3. Participants undergoing coronary catheterization for stable coronary disease (chronic angina) and unstable coronary disease (acute coronary syndrome) in the Catherization Lab at the NYU Langone Health and the Mount Sinai Health System
  4. Participants with a medical diagnosis of coronary artery disease referred to a cardiologist at the NYU Langone Health and the Mount Sinai Health System for an out-patient visit
  5. Participants with acute stroke either ischemic, embolic (i.e., cerebral ischemia due to cardiac or arterial vessel embolism unrelated to carotid plaques) or hemorrhagic referred to a neurologist or neurosurgeon at the NYU Langone Health System and the Mount Sinai Health System
  6. Participants undergoing cardiac transplant at the NYU Langone Health or for either ischemic and non-ischemic heart failure to obtain extra tissue from the explanted heart after the organ has been removed

  
  

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

• 1. Participants who currently has infection
  2. Those with autoimmune disease
  3. Participants with cancer
  4. Participants undergoing kidney dialysis
  5. Those who have peripheral arterial occlusive disease with rest pain
