Neural Correlates of Active Avoidance Learning and Their Interactions with Fear Extinction Mechanisms in PTSD Patients

Brief description of study

The purpose of this research study is to investigate how our brains form avoidance behaviors, extinguish fear, and how we decide between avoiding or facing our trauma-related stimuli. We hope that what we will learn from this study will help us improve the way we treat patients with PTSD and other anxiety disorders.
