DEAD SPACE MEASUREMENT IN PATIENTS WITH ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME DUE TO COVID-19 INFECTION

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to monitor and explore how respiratory mechanics affects outcomes in critically ill patients diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) due to COVID-19. Respiratory mechanics will be monitored using a device called a bedside volumetric capnograph (NICO2, Philis-Respironics). The NICO2 is currently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and used in many hospitals.
