A One Year Observational Investigation of Subjects with Open Angle Glaucoma And a Documented History of Progressive Visual Field Loss
Are you eligible to participate in this study?
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
-
Conditions: Open Angle Glaucoma
-
Age: Between 18 - 99 Years
-
Gender: Male or Female
-
Other Inclusion Criteria:
- Perimetric early and moderate, open angle glaucoma
- At least 4 prior consecutive reliable visual fields for potentially eligible eye(s) within the last 60 months with evidence of visual field progression (slope of -0.5 to -1.0 dB/year) and confirmed by the Visual Field Reading Center
- Visual acuity is greater than or equal to 20/40 (Snellen)
- Ability to accurately perform perimetry reliably as determined by the Visual Field Reading Center with less than 15% false positives
- Ability to continue with medical therapy
- Ability to have transportation to/from testing center
You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:
-
- Humphrey MD score better than -2.0 dB or worse than -12.0 dB
- Zeiss RNFL OCT at or near floor (average RNFL thickness <60 microns) in the past 24 months
- IOP < 15 mmHg or IOP greater than 28 mmHg
- Media opacities (e.g. corneal scars, posterior subcapsular cataracts, etc.) that might account for field defect or prevent reliable perimetry
- Prior intraocular glaucoma surgery within 24 months of baseline visit
- Prior laser trabeculoplasty (SLT, ALT) within 6 months of baseline visit
- Diabetic retinopathy (proliferative or non-proliferative)
- Non-glaucomatous optic neuropathy
- Systemic, psychiatric, neurological disease, or any other condition which would preclude finishing the study at prescribed time intervals
- Any CNS disease that could either limit ability to perform perimetry or mask glaucomatous damage
