A Pilot Study of the Immediate Effects of DLPFC tDCS on Attention Bias in Depression
Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to determine if a single 30-minute session of transcranial direct current stimulation, or tDCS, can help people with mild to moderate depression focus less on a negative thought. tDCS is a non-invasive (does not enter your body) brain stimulation technique that applies low electrical current to the brain through a headset to help improve brain activity. tDCS is an investigational device because it is not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for commercial use. However, it is used in clinical treatment (routine care) and in research studies such as this one.
