Brijjit for Wound Closure in Gender Affirming Mastectomies

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of Brijjit® devices for wound closure following gender-affirming mastectomy. Brijjit® is a non-invasive wound closure device already used by our providers as part of standard care in a variety of clinical situations. It is part of a class of devices called Force-Modulating Tissue Bridges (FMTBs), which are adhesive products that have an additional support component to relieve tension at the wound site. The researchers are interested in evaluating whether the Brijjit® device is superior to usage of Steri-strips (thin adhesive bandages), which are typically used for patients undergoing gender-affirming mastectomies.
