Recovering Sense of Smell in COVID-19 Long Haulers

Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Disturbances Of Smell And Taste
  • Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 99 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Had a history of COVID-19, either confirmed by an antigen test, PCR test, or highly suspected based on history of illness (exposure and symptoms) at least 6 weeks prior to enrollment
    2. Has present olfactory dysfunction (anosmia, hyposmia, parosmia, phantosmia) that began with onset of COVID-19 symptoms
    3. Willing and able to participate in all potential study procedures

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Has anosmia that has lasted more than one year in duration
    2. Presence of nasal polyps
    3. History of chronic sinusitis
    4. History of skull base surgery or trauma
    5. Findings on nasal endoscopy requiring further medical or surgical intervention
    6. Pregnant women, due to alterations in olfaction during pregnancy
