An Observational Study Using Multimodal Sensors to Measure Cognitive Health in Adults and Distinguish Mild Cognitive Impairment from Normal Aging

Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Memory/cognitive Impairment
  • Age: Between 21 years - 86 years
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Ability of the participant to understand the purpose and risks of the study, to provide informed consent, and to authorize the use of confidential health information in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.
    2. Fluent in spoken and written English.
    3. Minimum 8 years of education or 8th grade equivalent.
    4. Willing to wear an Apple Watch for daily use for the duration of the study.
    5. Willing to use their personal iPhone for routine daily use for the duration of the study.
      Technical Requirements:
      • iPhone models: iPhone 8 or newer.
      • iOS versions: current publicly available iOS version.
    6. Access to one of the following personal computing devices:
      • Microsoft Windows based personal computers (laptops and desktops).
      • Mac personal computers (such as: MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac).
      • Apple iPad (logical resolution minimum 1024x768; maximum 1112x834).
      • OS: Windows (7), macOS (X), iPadOS (13).
      • Browser: Chrome (50), Internet Explorer (11), Safari (9), Firefox (N/A), Edge (N/A).
    7. Active email address for enrollment account creation and for use in relaying study information.
    8. Active mobile telephone number for use in relaying study information when appropriate.
    9. Primary address within the US (50 states and Washington, DC; not a PO box).

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Inability to comply with study requirements including the inability to provide informed consent without a legally authorized representative.
    2. Any self-reported medical history of dementia (such as Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, dementia with Lewy body, vascular dementia, rapidly progressive dementia, or Parkinson’s disease dementia).
    3. Self-reported dependence on others to perform core activities of daily living, including feeding, dressing, bathing, toileting, or grooming.
