Quadri-Nuclear MRI to Study Brain Energy Metabolism
Brief description of study
This project focus on (1) the technical development for data acquisition (building a new multichannel 4X-nuclei RF array to provide higher SNR compared to the initial birdcage design, simultaneous acquisitions), (2) data quantification from the 4 nuclei acquired, and (3) a small exploratory sub-aim to test the proposed method to classify healthy controls and patients with steno-occlusive disease. Results from this study will be significant not only in advancing the development of new multinuclear hardware and imaging protocols, but also in providing a new imaging platform to gain fundamental knowledge into brain energy metabolism in vivo.
