Endothelial Activation in Gout: Early Markers for Cardiovascular Risk

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Gout
  • Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 89 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
      Participants with gout:
    1. No current urate lowering therapy or use of urate lowering therapy within the past 3 months (including allopurinol, febuxostat, probenecid, or pegloticase).
    2. Able and willing to provide written informed consent for the study.
      Healthy participants without gout:
    1. Able and willing to provide written informed consent for the study.

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Participants with gout:
    2. Recent use of urate lowering therapy.
    3. Use of colchicine or prednisone within the past 14 days.
    4. Gout flare within the past 2 weeks.
    5. Known active cancer receiving treatment.
    6. Pregnancy.
    7. Anemia, thrombocytopenia, or thrombocytosis.
    8. A history of severe bleeding or bleeding disorders.
    9. Chronic kidney disease stage 4 or 5.
    10. Congestive heart failure class III or IV.
    11. NSAID use within 5 half-lives of the specified NSAID.
      Healthy participants without gout:
    1. Known active cancer receiving treatment.
    2. Pregnancy.
    3. Anemia, thrombocytopenia, or thrombocytosis.
    4. A history of severe bleeding or bleeding disorders.
    5. Chronic kidney disease stage 4 or 5.
    6. Congestive heart failure class III or IV.
    7. NSAID use within 5 half-lives of the specified NSAID.
