ALZHEIMER S DISEASE RELATED BIOMARKERS FOLLOWING SARS-COV-2 INFECTION

Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Alzheimer's Disease
  • Age: Between 60 Year(s) - 100 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
      Group 1: COVID-19 history with New Cognitive Findings Cohort:
    1. Age = 18 years.
    2. Laboratory documented SARS-CoV-2 infection.
    3. Cognitive abnormalities within = 12 months following documented SARS-CoV-2 infection.
    4. Must have a reliable study partner (preferably spouse, close friend or relative).
      Group 2: COVID-19 history without New Cognitive Findings Cohort:
    1. Age = 18 years.
    2. Laboratory documented SARS-CoV-2 infection.
    3. No new objective or subjective cognitive findings within = 12 months of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
    4. Must have a reliable study partner (preferably spouse, close friend or relative).
      Group 3: Control Cohort:
    1. Age = 18 years.
    2. No laboratory or clinical evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection and/or SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid antibody negative.
    3. No new objective or subjective cognitive abnormalities through until time of enrollment.
    4. Must have a reliable study partner (preferably spouse, close friend or relative).

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Pre-COVID history of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer’s disease/Alzheimer’s disease related dementias.
    2. Structural brain lesions such as prior stroke/intracranial hemorrhage, demyelinating disease, brain tumor, or hydrocephalus.
    3. Unable to participate in neuropsychological testing.
    4. Unable to provide blood sample.
    5. Life expectancy < 6 months.
