Optimized sodium MR imaging in mild traumatic brain injury

Brief description of study

Conventional imaging studies (CT scans or MRI) are oftentimes normal, leaving individuals with an injury that is difficult to detect, difficult to predict the outcome of, and difficult to treat. In this research study we will try to find new, noninvasive methods using sodium MRI to detect and quantify changes to the brain after concussion. We hope to identify non-invasive imaging biomarkers that will help in the future detection and treatment of patients with head injury.
