You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

• Conditions:
  Fatty Liver
• Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 99 Year(s)
• Gender: Male or Female

• Other Inclusion Criteria:
  

  Patient criteria:
  1. Individuals with known or suspected fatty liver disease and/or liver fibrosis, undergoing or scheduled to undergo clinically indicated liver MR imaging in the NYU Department of Radiology.
  2. Competent and willing to provide verbal informed consent.
  3. Diagnosed with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

  Healthy control criteria:
  1. Ages 18-99.
  2. Competent and willing to sign informed consent.

  
  

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

• 1. Contraindications to MRI scanning (i.e., metal implants, pacemakers, Ferromagnetic implants such as aneurysm clips, surgical clips, prostheses, artificial hearts, valves with steel parts, metal fragments, shrapnel, tattoos near the eye, or steel implants).
  2. Pre-existing medical conditions including likelihood of developing severe seizure or severe claustrophobic reactions, and any greater than normal potential for cardiac arrests.
  3. Permanent makeup around the eyes.
  4. Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  5. For patients undergoing clinical standard of care scans on the same day, the research scan must be without contrast if prior to the clinical scan.
