Predicting adenomatous polyps using images of a human tongue

Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Colorectal Adenomas
  • Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 75 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Patients without any incapacitating systemic disease.
    2. Patients who are scheduled/planned to undergo a screening or surveillance colonoscopy with Dr. Seth Gross, MD at NYULH Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) 23.
    3. Able to comprehend and provide informed consent.

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Patient has a history of colorectal cancer (CRC).
    2. Patient has a diagnosis or medical history of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) or hereditary non-polyposis CRC syndrome (also referred to as "HNPCC" or "Lynch Syndrome").
    3. Patient has a diagnosis or personal history of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including chronic ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.
    4. Patients with incapacitating systemic disease.
    5. Patients with a disability to extend their tongue.
