Developing a Novel Neural marker for Assessing Pathological Social Interactions

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Healthy Control Subjects
  • Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 65 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Provision of consent
    2. Corrected-to-normal vision
    3. No psychiatric or pathological disorder history

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. NYU employees (including NYUMC employees) will be excluded from this study.
    2. NYUGSM students will be excluded from this study.
    3. Subjects who have completed coursework in Game Theory (undergraduate or graduate level)
    4. Individuals with contraindications for MRI such as electrically, magnetically or mechanically-activated implants (i.e. cardiac pacemakers), or clips on blood vessels in their brain, or other metallic objects in their body such as shrapnel, bullets, buckshot, or metal fragments, or currently pregnant as concluded by a positive urine pregnancy test will not be eligible for the MRI scanning.
    5. Current use of medication for a psychiatric or neurological condition.
    6. Psychiatric or pathological disorder that, in the opinion of the study physician, would make study participation hazardous to the participant, or compromise study findings, or would prevent the participants from completing the study. Examples include:
      • Treated or untreated mental disorder (i.e. uncontrolled psychotic or affective spectrum illnesses, suicidal or homicidal ideation that requires immediate attention).
      • Serious unstable medical illnesses requiring immediate attention or terminal medical illnesses (i.e. uncompensated heart failure, end-stage kidney or liver disease, end-stage AIDS).
