Impact of A Structured Anxiety Reduction Program on Anxiety in Patients Who Are Discharged to Home Following an Acute Stroke in an Academic Medical Center

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    People With Acute Stroke
  • Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 89 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Diagnosed with an acute stroke
    2. Able to speak, read and write in English
    3. Not cognitively impaired
    4. Discharged to home
    5. Internet access including email and or cell phone
    6. Willingness to participate in an anxiety reduction program
    7. Length of hospital stay less than 5 days from the initial presentation of stroke symptoms
    8. Must be medically stable

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Not diagnosed with an acute stroke
    2. Unable to speak, read and write in English
    3. Not discharged to home
    4. No internet access including email or cell phone
    5. Unwilling or unable to participate in an anxiety reduction program
    6. Cognitively impaired
    7. Length of hospital stay greater than 6 days from the initial presentation of stroke symptoms
    8. Not medically stable
