Effectiveness and impact of counseling enhanced with electronic cigarettes for harm reduction in smokers with opioid use disorder

Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Opioid Use Disorder
    Cigarette Smoking
  • Age: Between 21 Year(s) - 75 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Currently smokes 5 or more cigarettes per day (CPD).
    2. Interested in reducing combustible cigarette smoking but not necessarily trying to quit.
    3. Has a diagnosis of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).
    4. In OUD treatment program(s) (buprenorphine or methadone).
    5. Stable methadone or buprenorphine dose for two weeks.
    6. Own a mobile phone
    7. Able to provide an additional contact.
    8. Other criteria that will be assessed by the research team.

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Does not speak English or Spanish.
    2. Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
    3. Not able to provide consent.
    4. Other criteria that will be assessed by the research team.
