You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Conditions: Schizophrenia Spectrum DisorderMajor Depressive Disorder

Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 60 Year(s)

Gender: Male or Female

Other Inclusion Criteria:
- capacity to sign written informed consent
- ages 18-60 years
- any race
- Diagnosis of either psychosis (schizophrenia, schizophreniform disorder, psychosis not otherwise specified), or unipolar major depressive disorder without psychotic features
You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

- alcohol, cocaine, or cannabis use diagnosis active in the past 3 months (except for nicotine use disorder)
- history of central nervous system (CNS) trauma (including concussion with known loss of consciousness > 5 minutes)
- pregnancy
- contraindications to MRI scanning
- history of DSM-5 neurocognitive or neurodevelopmental disorders
- significant, unstable medical illness
- any known diagnosis of a neurological disorder, as this may impact neural circuitry related to study hypotheses
- sensory (hearing, visual) impairment that could impact performance on affective and cognitive tasks.
- more than mild lifetime cocaine or opioid use disorders
