Clinical Research Studies

The purpose of this research study is to learn more about inflammation, or an immune response from your body, which may happen in children who have an increased body mass index (BMI), high blood pressure or diabetes. We also want to learn about how the medications you take affect the inflammation.We are asking you to take part in this research study because you have one of the medical conditions being studied. We are studying type 1 and type 2 diabetes, medical conditions where the body does not make any or enough of a hormone called insulin to turn energy into food, high BMI, which is when a person has a higher than normal body weight for how tall they are, and hypertension, which is high blood pressure. You also may qualify for this study because you do not have any of these conditions and we need to compare test results between the medical conditions listed and healthy volunteers.
