Comparative Effectiveness of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Pharmacotherapy for Anxiety

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) group intervention compared to individual pharmacological intervention with low-dose escitalopram for the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Agoraphobia. Patients will be randomized into two eight-week treatments: MBSR or escitalopram.
