Barriers to Neurorehabilitation Treatment Following Acquired Brain Injury
Brief description of study
The purpose of the current study is to examine psychosocial, environmental, and institutional barriers to neurorehabilitation treatment with particular attention to ethnic/racial and linguistic minorities. Investigators hypothesize that linguistic and ethnic/racial minorities with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) will endorse more service obstacles and environmental barriers as compared to their English speaking and racial majority counterparts. They also hypothesize that demographic and social structure variables (i.e., ethnicity, social class, and acculturation) will have a significant relation to illness perception, health literacy, quality of life, and service obstacles among patients seeking neurorehabilitation treatment.
