Heart Attack Research Program (HARP)

Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Myocardial Infarction
  • Age: Between 21 Year(s) - 100 Year(s)
  • Gender: Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Subjects with acute ischemic symptoms compatible with diagnosis of myocardial infarction.
    2. Subjects with evidence of myocardial infarction based on level of tropinin on laboratory tests or ST segment elevation on ECG tests.
    3. Subjects who are willing to consent and comply to the protocol
    4. Subjects who are at least 21 years old

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Subjects with stenosis=50% of any major epicardial vessel on invasive angiograph
    2. Subjects with a history of known obstructive CAD at angiography
    3. Subjects who use vasospastic agents, such as cocaine, triptans, or ergot alkaloids
    4. Subjects who has alternate explanation for troponin elevation
    5. Subjects with coronary dissection apparent on angiography
    6. Subject with excessive coronary tortuosity
    7. Subjects who are pregnant
    8. Subjects who have thrombolytic therapy for STEMI
      Additional exclusions for the blood sub-study:
    1. Subjects who are severely anemic (HgB < 9)
