Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

• Conditions:
  Stroke, Not Specified As Haemorrhage Or Infarction
• Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 99 Year(s)
• Gender: Male or Female

• Other Inclusion Criteria:
  

  1. Subjects are at least 18 years old
  2. Subjects must have premorbid right-handed dominance or ambidexterity
  3. Subjects must have Unilateral first-time ischemic corticospinal tract stroke within the past two weeks
  4. Subjects must have at least one major UE muscle group with a medical research council (MRC) score <5/5

  For stroke subjects (pilot study):

  1. Subjects are at least 18 years old
  2. Subjects must have premorbid right-handed dominance or ambidexterity
  3. Subjects must have Unilateral first-time ischemic corticospinal tract stroke within the past two weeks

  For healthy controls (longitudinal and pilot study):

  1. Subjects are at least 18 years old
  2. Subjects have no neurological conditions
  3. Subjects must have right-handed dominance or ambidexterity

  
  

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

• For all subjects:

  1. Subjects with bihemispheric or brainstem stroke
  2. Subjects with traumatic brain injury
  3. Subjects with musculoskeletal, major medical, or non-stroke neurological condition that interferes with assessment of motor function.
  4. Subjects with global inattention
  5. Subjects with visual field cut > quadrantanopia, visuospatial neglect, or legal blindness
  6. Subjects with seizure or epilepsy
  7. Subjects with metal in the head (except in mouth) or thorax
  8. Subjects participating in another study using investigational therapies or medications
  9. Subjects unable to give informed consent
