The MitraClip EXPAND Study (A Contemporary Prospective Multi-center Study Evaluating Realworld Experience of Performance and Safety for the Next Generation of MitraClip Devices)

Brief description of study

This is a study evaluating the use of the MitraClip System. MR (Mitral Regurgitation) occurs when the two leaflets of your mitral valve do not close properly, causing blood to leak backward with each heartbeat. Since some of the blood leaks backward, the heart has to pump more blood with each beat to push the same amount of blood forward. The MitraClip System consists of a delivery catheter and an implantable Clip that is designed to repair the mitral valve by clipping the two leaflets together. This study is being conducted to collect information on the use and outcomes of the MitraClip System in everyday medical treatment.
