Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) for the Management of Multiple Sclerosis Related Fatigue

Are you eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions:
    Multiple Sclerosis
  • Age: Between 18 Year(s) - 70 Year(s)
  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Other Inclusion Criteria:
    1. Subjects who are between the ages of 18-75 years old
    2. Subjects who have definite MS diagnosis, all subtypes
    3. Subjects with Fatigue Severity Scale74 score of 36 or greater
    4. Subjects with Score of 7.5 or less on the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS10)
    5. Subjects who have the ability to understand the informed consent process and provide consent to participate in the study

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

    1. Subjects with primary neurologic, psychiatric or other medical disorder other than MS
    2. Subjects with history of head trauma or medical device in head or neck in the last year
    3. Subjects who has unstable or recently initiated pharmacological treatment schedule for fatigue over the last month
    4. Subjects with Symbol Digit Modalities Test or SDMT97 score =3.0 SD from published norms
    5. Subjects with WRAT-498 reading level below average (<85)
    6. Subjects with Beck Depression Inventory-Fast Screen (BDI- FS77) score =6
    7. Subjects who are breast feeding or pregnant
    8. Subjects who have skin disorder/sensitive skin near stimulation locations
    9. Subjects with visual, auditory, or motor deficits that would prevent full ability understand study instructions or operate the study device or laptop as judged by treating neurologist or study staff
