Platelet Activity and Vascular Health in System Lupus Erythematosus

Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to learn more about how systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) affects the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), (i.e. conditions that affect the heart and blood vessels). SLE is a complicated autoimmune disease that presents a higher risk for premature CVD. An autoimmune disease is a condition in which your immune system, which fights foreign particles such as bacteria, mistakenly attacks your own body. Individuals with SLE are at risk of disease progression, disease complications, and other medical conditions.
