TBI as a Chronic Condition: An In-depth Characterization of Knowledge Attitudes and Experiences

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Conditions: Traumatic Brain Injury

Age: Between 19 - 99 Years

Gender: Male or Female

Other Inclusion Criteria:
All Participants:- Subjects who are at least 19 years old
- Subjects who are willing to engage in the study and complete one or both parts of the study
- Subjects willing to engage in the study and complete one or both parts of the study
- Subjects who are willing to sign an informed consent document agreeing to participate
- Subjects with Documentation of moderate to severe TBI history using the OSU-TBI screening tool
- Subjects who are living in the community at least 1 year after a moderate to severe TBI
- Subjects with a medically-documented moderate to severe TBI as a result of a blow to the head requiring admission to an acute inpatient rehabilitation unit
- Subjects who are living in the community at least 1 year after a moderate to severe TBI
- Subjects who have enrolled in the Rusk Rehabilitation Traumatic Brain Injury Model System study (s13-00056) or the TBI- Quality of Life study (s14-00447)
- Subjects who are caring for an individual with a medically-documented or non-medically documented moderate to severe TBI at least 1 year post-TBI
- Subjects who are close relative or non-relative that provides most care/support to the person with brain injury
- Subjects who provides medical care (i.e. clinical care, referrals) to people living within the community
You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

All Participants:
- Subjects who are younger than 19 years old
- Subjects who are in the judgment of the treating physician, principal investigator, and/or the study team, have the presence of significant cognitive impairment (i.e. delirium or dementia) sufficient to preclude meaningful informed consent and/or data collection
- Subjects who are in the judgment of the principal investigator and/or study team, significant or major disabling medical or psychiatric condition sufficient to preclude meaningful informed consent and/or data collection
- Subjects with no history of moderate to severe TBI
- Subjects who are less than 1 year post-TBI
- Subjects who are in minimally conscious or vegetative state
- Subjects with significant symptoms of receptive aphasia
- Subjects who are caring for a TBI individual less than 1 year post-TBI
- Subjects who provides healthcare to a TBI individual less than 1 year post-TBI
