Type 1 Diabetes Pathway to Prevention Study (Natural History) Study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Conditions: Type 1 Diabetes

Age: Between 1 Year(s) - 45 Year(s)

Gender: Male or Female

Other Inclusion Criteria:
Screening Phase:- Subjects willing to give informed consent for screening.
- Subjects aged 2.5 to 45 years and a sibling, offspring, or parent of an individual with Type 1 Diabetes.
- Subjects aged 2.5 to 20 years and a niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, grandchild, cousin, or half sibling of an individual with Type 1 Diabetes
- Subjects who are not family members and are known to have 1 or more islet antibodies are eligible for screening if needed to determine eligibility for a clinical trial to delay or prevent disease progression
- Subjects have 1 or 2 or more autoantibodies
- Subjects have a relative with Type 1 Diabetes.
You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

Screening Phase:
- Subjects have diabetes by 2011 ADA criteria.
- Subjects have previous or current use of medications for the control of hyperglycemia/diabetes
- Subjects currently use immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory therapies, including pharmacologic doses of systemic steroids.
- Subjects have known severe active diseases, and/or diseases which are likely to limit life expectancy or lead to the use of chronic immunosuppressive or immunomodulatory therapies during the course of the study.
- Subjects have diabetes by 2011 ADA criteria, including a past history of diabetes
- Subjects be deemed unable or unlikely to comply with the protocol.
