Auditory Pathway Mapping in Pediatric Patients with Sensorineural Hearing Loss Being Evaluated for Surgical Therapy
Brief description of study
The objective of this study is to develop methods for in vivo MRI detection of abnormal cochlear nerve and auditory brainstem pathway pathology that will better predict cochlear and auditory brainstem implantation success or failure. There remains a strong unmet need to develop better predictors of post-operative success for cochlear or auditory brainstem implants – new advanced MRI techniques developed in our lab may be ideally suited to identify neuroanatomic and functional connectivity differences that better predict outcomes.
