You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

• Conditions:
  Sensorineural Hearing Loss
• Age: Between 3 Month(s) - 25 Year(s)
• Gender: Male or Female

• Other Inclusion Criteria:
  

  Inclusion Criteria for Patients

  1. Subjects are between the ages of 3 months to 25 years old
  2. Subjects with post-lingual and pre-lingual sensorineural hearing loss who are undergoing preoperative evaluation for cochlear or auditory brainstem implantation
  3. Subjects who are under the age of 18 have a parent/legal guardian.

  Inclusion Criteria for Controls

  1. Subjects are between the ages of 18 to 25 years old
  2. Subjects able to complete the informed consent process

  
  

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

• Exclusion Criteria for Patients

  1. Subjects have contraindications for MRI scans

  Exclusion Criteria for Controls

  1. Subjects have contraindications for MRI scans
  2. Subjects with symptoms of hearing impairment as determined by the complete unaided audiogram at 125-8000Hertz (Hz) and a sound field aided audiogram
  3. Subjects who have history of traumatic brain injury involving loss of consciousness.
