You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

• Conditions:
  Lupus Erythematosus
• Age: Between 18 years - 70 years
• Gender: Male or Female

• Other Inclusion Criteria:
  

  SLE Inclusion criteria:

  1. Subjects who consent to participate in the study
  2. Subjects are betweeen the ages of 18-70 years old
  3. Subset of subjects who have positive antibody titers to ribonucleic binding proteins (RBP), aiming for 50% RBP Ab positive
  4. Subjects with SLEDAI ranging from 0 to 24
  5. Subjects who meets 4 of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria for lupus classification

  Unaffected control Inclusion criteria:

  1. Subjects who consent to participate in the study
  2. Subjects are between the ages of 18-70 years old
  3. Subjects who have not been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease nor cancer

  
  

You may not be eligible for this study if the following are true:

• SLE Exclusion criteria:

  1. Subjects who are younger than 18 years old or older than 70 years old
  2. Subjects with chronic infectious diseases, cancer, or on chemotherapy
  3. Subjects with New York Heart Association (NYHA) Class III or IV heart failure
  4. Subjects with CNS lupus or drug induced lupus
  5. Subjects who are on intravenous steroids or cyclophosphamide
  6. Subjects diagnosed or treated for any malignancy in the past 3 years
  7. Subjects who are pregnant
  8. Subjects with Hemoglobin (Hbg)<9

  Unaffected control Exclusion criteria:

  1. Subjects who have chronic infectious diseases, cancer, or on chemotherapy
  2. Subjects diagnosed or treated for any malignancy in the past 3 years
  3. Subjects who are pregnant
